As long as your are sensible with credit cards, there are some great deals still to be had despite the credit crunch and you can make money for nothing.
Firstly get yourself a credit card with 0% interest on purchases. Then use this card exclusively for all the purchases you would normally make. i.e groceries, clothing etc. DO NOT spend it on luxury items you would not have normally bought. Whilst doing this, put all the money you would have spent on your debit card into a high interest savings account. Keep on doing this for the duration of the interest free period (which is normally over 12 months but check your agreement). Pay off the minimum amount every month, and when the interest free period is over clear the balance immediately. As long as you have invested your cash over the last 12 months, you will have earned a significant amount of interest for yourself. Then TEAR UP the credit card, and apply for another 0% card.
