Instead of complaining about the levels of immigration in the UK, accept there's nothing you can do about it and start taking their money.
I'm not talking about renting rooms out on long-term lets to Eastern Europeans working in your local vegetable factory; however if you are comfortable with that then ok. A slightly more reserved approach could be to rent out your spare room to visiting foreign students coming here to improve their English. Usually they are in the UK for only a term, so at most you would be looking at 10 weeks.
You will need to have a specific room and provide them with breakfast and dinner. You can expect to receive between £100-£200 per week depending on circumstances.
